“COSTRUIRE IL BLOCCO” is a black and white performance video in which the artist is filmed building a marble block. The material used to "shape" the block is composed of a series of 10x15 cm photographs depicting details of white Henraux marble, the same used by Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564) for his sculptures. The photographs, assembled one after the other on the wall, form a 1:1 scale marble block. The video, lasting about an hour, is also projected at a 1:1 scale and allows the viewer to observe the action from a fixed frontal viewpoint in order to grasp the effort of the action in the most direct way and convey a realistic view of the block's dimensions.
